At Izmir School, our Training Program Development services aim to cultivate transformative competencies deeply rooted in the principles of Circular Culture and nature-based living. We design curricula that integrate robust theoretical frameworks with immersive, direct experiences, employing innovative methodologies to address contemporary challenges.
Our holistic training modules are carefully crafted to embed the core concepts of circular development—focused on resource regeneration and reuse—and circular culture, which harmonizes community values and practices with ecological integrity. By incorporating principles of nature-based living, our programs actively promote ecological cycles and resilience, encouraging participants to redesign their thinking to foster harmonious and reciprocal human–nature relationships.
Leveraging insights from extensive interdisciplinary research and international collaborations, we deliver cutting-edge training that equips participants not only with theoretical knowledge but also with in-depth experiential learning critical for effective application in real-world contexts.
Currently, we are developing an agroecology training program scheduled for launch in October 2025, in partnership with Slow Food International. Additionally, we collaborate with Doğa Derneği – BirdLife Turkey to design educational tools and curricula focused on Mediterranean wetlands, as part of a project funded by the Watkins Audemaier Foundation. We are also preparing the 2026 training program for Seferihisar Doğa Okulu in partnership with Doğa Derneği.
One of our key initiatives is the design and implementation of the Sevilma Olive Farms training program in İzmir, targeting preschool children. This innovative program fosters early nature literacy by enabling young learners to engage with nature directly—through play, observation, and experiential activities—helping them intuitively grasp the complex interconnections within ecosystems and the broader web of life.
Selected previous experiences
We contributed to the establishment of the Nature School of Doga Dernegi (BirdLife in Turkey) and played an active role in designing a diverse range of training courses, which are attended by nearly 1,000 people each year.
